Few days back I was given a bottle of Four Seasons Viognier wine (a type of white wine) and asked to review it. I am a totally non wine drinker and pairing Wine with food comes a bit unnatural to me. I have always known Wine to be paired with non vegetarian and non Indian food. Since none of the hotels would allow me to take my wine in and also because I would never have non vegetarian food, trying and reviewing this wine was a nightmare.

Let's face it, if the Indian Film Industry would go to lengths just to have a song titled "Dilli ki sardi", there has to be something special about it. Gourmet sounds pretentious to me and my everyday food is all about taste and flavors presented simply, more because I want it to be doable every single day. Taste wise, I draw inspiration from every cuisine I come across either virtually or when it actually tickles my taste buds in the physical world. There is so much more to learn and explore, making everyday food more and more pleasurable both by the sensory faculties and the metabolic faculties, is the primary focus on this blog. Four Seasons definitely knows how to organize events in true style. This formal sit down dinner organized by Four Seasons with Chief Wine Maker Abhay Kewadkar along with some of the best and biggest names in the chef fraternity and the media took place at The Grill, Hotel Lalit, Delhi. Over and above endless experiments with all kinds of wine, the evening saw a very warm and amiable interaction between the chefs and media, including the bloggers. But before I even proceed to the pictures, let me just highlight the absolutely delightful food which was hands down, the winner of the evening.

If you go to think of it…wine can pretty much be compared to our lives. It has a story…just like all of us. The careful picking of grapes, the environment it evolves from, the winemaker carefully nurtures it, the aging that helps develop the depth in flavor and just how perfectly it accompanies food. It clearly involves nurturing, aging with wisdom and well companionship. With something that has a history of its own it involuntarily gains intellectual conversation and whole lot of attention.
