Vineyard Visit, 2014

May 8, 2014
If at gunpoint I was ever asked to choose between “having excellent food and wine” or “traveling to incredible places” for a year, and I could only choose one or the other, with a heavy heart I would have to choose the former. I am that kind of a person.Read More...

If you have been following this space for a while, you'd know that Adrenalize is an event I personally look forward to. Not only because it chooses one of Kolkata's oldest and most sophisticated clubs as the venue but also because it tries to give the guests an one stop solution for all things fun. And an event like this in the Winter is just what the doctor ordered for the party animals.Read More...

Every time I cook with wine, I plan a dessert but I always end up using it to drink and cook meats! Good red wine does wonders for pork, lamb and beef, I tend to use whites for chicken and fish, it's not a rule, nothing in food is, it's just a habit.Read More...

When I first got a mail to do a product review of Four Seasons Wine, I was little sceptical. Personally, I think that Four Seasons Merlot is one of the best Indian wines in the market today. The wine price is MRP Rs650. I guess at this price, Four Seasons Merlot really beat a lot of Indian red wines in the market. I’ve tried many of red wines specially in the same price range, and most of them are either too sweet or too sour,Read More...

Why do people like Wine so much? I asked myself every time I saw people ordering it at fancy restaurants. As a surgeon, lot of people keep asking me whether wine is good or bad for the heart. Well, my instant reply is – Depends on how much of it you are consuming J Research shows that Moderate Consumption of wine (i.e. 5-US-fluid-ounce (150 ml) glass of wine per day for women and two glasses per day for men) is beneficial to health in terms of longevity and heart health. But by that, as a surgeon, I am not advocating wine consumption, rather, I’m advising ‘moderate consumption’ of wine.Read More...
